Bub gets a Girlfriend

BubMeetsLolaMeet sweet, lovely Lola.  She’s a 6-month-old Australian Shepherd-Border Collie mix.  She came to visit us for just one night with her parents, some dear friends of ours.

Bub fell head over heels in love with this beauty almost the instant he laid eyes on her.

They ran, they played, they hugged.  Bub, being the true gentleman that he is, shared his room, his beds, his food, and all of his toys with his new lady.  Lola appreciated his kindness, showing much love and adoration in return.

BubSharesHisToysShe had to leave him yesterday, and he’s been moping around ever since with a broken heart.  I haven’t seen Bub this sad since the day I picked him up off the streets of Alamosa…back when he thought he was doomed to a lifetime of living homeless and hungry.

My once vibrant, bouncing boy slowly shrugs around the house now, lazily drops his butt to the floor; each time letting out a big, lonely, dramatic sigh.  When he goes outside, he desperately plops down on his carpet (another sigh), and then he stares off into the distance, as if he’s doomed for a lifetime of waiting for Lola’s return.

Well, little does Bub know, she’s coming back for another visit tomorrow.  I don’t know what I’ll do with his pitiful, sad self when she has to leave him again.  And to my surprise, I just heard these words muttered from my sweetie’s mouth, “If Bub doesn’t snap out of this funk soon, we might have to just let Lola come live here with us.”  WHAT?  No way.  There’s no way I just heard that.

Until then, I’m going to keep telling Bub not to worry, and that every little thing is gonna be alright 🙂
