This month’s Photo goes to none other than my beloved Buddy-O (a.k.a., Wile E.). We’re coming up on June 26th – the day that will mark exactly one year since we very reluctantly said good-bye to the best boy on earth.
They say time heals all wounds. I cannot say that a year has healed the hole in my heart. It’s been more like a year full of missing him and remembering my cherished moments with him. I suppose I don’t cry over him as much, but he is never far from my thoughts. In fact, I cry for him now, as I prepare this post in his honor.
I’ll head down to his resting place in a bit. I’ll find a rock on which to sit…and ponder some more about just how much I love this guy. He left my world, but never ever my heart.
What a spectacular dog Wile E. grew to be. Just like a child he tested the waters during his youth but all the while he was growing into the most mellow, faithful boy you could ever have asked for. I know in my heart no one would have provided the quality of life you did when he started to decline. And you did it with such love and compassion, with no apparent animosity for the task you’d been given. As was Wile E., you’re one in a million and I’m proud you’re my daughter! I love you – Mom
