Well folks, there are many “heart throbs” in my life…mostly of the canine variety – HA! But this guy just moved up to the top of my favorites list (along with the fabulous Floyd, the Cassin’s Finch).
Meet Romeo, a very handsome and flirtatious Red Breasted Grosbeak. And he’s not just any ol’ handsome Grosbeak – he is the first of his kind that we have ever seen here at el Rancho. We are anxiously waiting to meet his girlfriend – would love to see a female! I couldn’t choose just one shot of Romeo, so this month’s photo just became three 🙂
Nice captures. If memory serves me correct, this would be at the far western reaches of their migration path. This is a handsome little fellow no doubt and you are so lucky to see him. I have never had the chance to see one in real life.
