Surprise visitors at the Hummingbird Feeders

To my great surprise and delight, these two Warblers showed up a few days ago, and they have been devouring our Hummingbird feeders ever since!  One is a male Virginia’s Warbler (gray and white, with yellow chest and under tail – has reddish color on crown), and the other is a male Orange-Crowned Warbler (more olive in color).  This is a first-time-sighting of these birds here at el Rancho, and definitely the first time we’ve spotted someone other than a Hummingbird at the nectar feeders!

They are quite tame, and almost seem to enjoy having their photos taken.  Neither of them seem to care if a Hummingbird comes to the feeder to challenge them.  They’ll just stay perched and are happy to allow the Hummers to share, if they wish.  What a joy it is discovering and learning about new birds!

Have you seen these Warblers in YOUR back yard?  I want to see your pics!  E-mail them to nicole@echoimagery-co.com.
