Last Saturday, we set off from La Veta to Fort Garland, down to San Luis and Antonito, where Highway 17 (Cumbres Pass) takes you to the New Mexico State Line. Having never seeing this part of Colorado, it was fascinating to drive by “Cano’s Castle”, in Antonito. You can read more about how this “recycled” castle creation was built here….and here.
